         CREATING A "PRESS READY" PDF FILE: ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR  
     
 

• FOR ALL ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR FILES:

    1. Open your file in Adobe Illustrator.
    2. When practical, convert your fonts to outlines (see Illustrator Help).
    3. Select "File > Save As..."
    4. A Dialogue Box will appear.
    5. Choose a folder to store your new PDF.
    6. In the "Format" pull-down menu select "Adobe PDF".
    7. Name your file in the "Save As" field.
    8. Click the "Save" button.
    9. A Dialogue Box will appear labeled "Adobe PDF Options".
    10. If your file bleeds, select "Marks and Bleeds".
    11. Enter ".125" in the four bleed fields.
    12. Click the "Save PDF" button.
