           CREATING A "PRESS READY" PDF FILE: QUARK XPRESS 7.2  
         
   

• FOUR COLOR/CMYK FILES:

    1. Open your file in Quark XPress.
    2. Select "File > Export > Layout as PDF..."
    3. A Dialogue Box will appear.
    4. Choose a folder to store your new PDF.
    5. In the "PDF Style" pull-down menu select "Press - High Quality/High Resolution".
    6. Name your file in the "Save As" field.
    7. Click the "Save" button.

 

   

• FILES WITH SPOT COLORS:

    1. Follow Steps 1–5 above.
    2. Click the "Options" button which appears below the "PDF Style" pull-down menu.
    3. A new Dialogue Box will appear displaying a list of Options you can apply to your file.
    4. Select "Color" from the list.
    5. Select "Composite" from the "Mode" pull-down menu.
    6. Select "As Is" from the "Setup" pull-down menu.
    7. Click the "OK" button.
    8. Click the "Save" button
